Beacon Company CEO Sean Taylor completes his amazing 150 mile run through the Sahara
Well, the second and final part of my challenge has been completed! The Marathon Des Sables (the toughest footrace in the world - so they say). I have not run every race in the world to give a definitive conclusion on whether it is the toughest, except to say I find it difficult to comprehend how it could be any tougher!
The first day went well and I was sitting around the 100th position which was a good start, however my feet started playing up quite soon after and from the end of day two I found it very difficult to run on them (click on my gallery and you will see some pics) http://seantaylor.saharamarathon.co.uk/ it was purely a case of just taking it one check point at a time, not even a day at a time!
The end of the Marathon day was quite emotional for me because it was then that I knew I would finish (even if I had to crawl) I only had a further 7 miles to go. I eventually finished in 309th place out of 780 that started the race.
The overall experience was fantastic and a worthy challenge for a worthy cause - thank you all so very much for your support and donations throughout.
Thank you once again to everyone who has ready donated or pledged I am very grateful, fopr those of you who have only pledged and not paid you can either send a cheque to me payable to (world Christian Ministries or WCM) or you can pay by card through the justgiving website: www.justgiving.com/seantaylor
