European School Takes to the Water with Rockley Watersports!
The largest international school in Europe, 'The British School in the Netherlands' (BSN) has once again visited Poole to learn watersports with sailing specialist, Rockley Watersports.
Over 120 year 9 students aged between 14 and 15 from BSN took to the water to learn sailing, windsurfing and kayaking and to experience power boating, yacht sailing and fishing!
Peter Gordon, Rockley Watersports' managing director said: "The British School in the Netherlands has been visiting Rockley Watersports for 27 years and once again all the students enjoyed the activities that we offer on the residential course in Poole.
"Since 1980 we have taught over 3,000 BSN students, with many continuing their watersports tuition and progressing in the sport once they have returned home.
"BSN recognise the importance of learning outside the classroom, which gives children the opportunity to thrive by learning new skills and encourages team building and motivation.
"Rockley Watersports aim is to give pupils from all schools the opportunity to get on the water and with the introduction of a further watersports centre at Poole Park we can now accommodate even more school children at Rockley Watersports.
"We currently teach over 4,500 school children a year at our UK and French centres but this figure will now increase due to the addition of Rockley @ Poole Park."
Rockley Watersports teach school children from age seven upwards in a number of watersports including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking and powerboating with courses ranging from one day to one week.
